According to a Kotaku article, Nintendo’s latest console, the NX, will come out globally next year at around March 2017.
In a financial release that was also linked on the Kotaku article, it was quoted:
“For our dedicated video game platform business, Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed ‘NX’ with a brand-new concept. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally.”
This would mean that we won’t get to see in E3 this year the fabled new device from Nintendo. What we would get however is more on Zelda this coming E3 according to Wall Street Journal reporter, Takashi Mochizuki, who was at today’s Nintendo financial briefing in Osaka.
This news isn’t really bad per se since this not only gives Nintendo a wider timeline to work with to improve the system. Also, this gives us players a wider breathing room when it comes to saving up for the dang thing. With the latest Pokemon title coming out late this year. And the slew of other new game releases like Bravely Second, Fire Emblem Fates, Monster Hunter Generations and even Mighty no. 9 (are we even excited for this?)
So what are your thoughts on the release date for the NX? Sound off in the comments!
