This announcement caused quite a stir during the announcement in E3 2017. But we’re finally getting a new Dragon Ball game and we’re not getting any of that 3D open world stuff that we’ve been getting lately.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z is an upcoming 2D fighting game from Bandai Namco Entertainment and being developed by Arc System Works, the company that brought us a ton of awesome fighting games such as Blazblue and Guilty Gear Xrd. So yeah, the company that brought over one of the more beloved fighting games into the world is getting a hand in one of the longest running IPs this side of the snake road. I can’t even–
Fighter Z will focus on 3v3 matches that allows us to pick our own teams. Based on the trailer below, we will be able to play with characters (or versions of them) as updated as the current ongoing series, Dragon Ball Super. We get to see classic DBZ villains such as Frieza, Perfect Cell, and even Majin Buu into the mix. Of course the super saiyans are there, but I’m wondering though will we get to see characters from the Tournament of Power in the line-up? Probably, DLC material.
We’re getting Fighter Z for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam platforms early 2018.
