The Philippine Pro Gaming League is back this year with a prize pool of 1.3 million for pro gamers who will compete for League of Legends, Arena of Valor, Rules of Survival, and Tekken 7.
Globe Telecom and MET Events (formerly Mineski Events Team) brings on a fresh look, and bigger prizes for aspiring pro gamers of the aforementioned games. For the uninitated, the PPGL 2019 is open to amateurs from all over the country who would like to experience esports level of competition. And possibly becoming career gamers.
We would like Filipino gamers to experience an esports tournament like the PPGL to bring our competitive power and esports industry up to par with our powerhouse Asian neighbors,
Jake San Diego, Globe Director for Games and Esports said.
The new design for the logo is a re-launch of the PPGL where the league aims to highlight the entertaining side of esports and not just the competitive side of the league.
The new logo shows the polish of professional esports alongside the fun energy of gaming. We want to show that at the core of professional esports are gamers who love the games they play,
Marlon Marcelo, MET Events Philippines Country Manager said.
Currently the first and second qualifier for Rules of Surival has ended with the Grand Finals happening on the 16th of February.
