I first got exposed to comic books with at a young age with Archie Comics and the classic DC and Marvel fare. This formed part of my geekery up until I was able to actually pursue a bit of comic collecting during my college days. The various shops of Greenhills served my buying needs, but one of the big retail names for comics was also a prime source: Comic Quest. The retailer has been around nearly as long as I’ve been alive, and the name was a familiar mainstay.
Sadly, in this season of COVID-19, Comic Quest is taking its 30+ year sign down as it closes. With the challenges of the pandemic and the trend of recent years to shift towards digital and online content in the comic industry, this probably might have been just a matter of time. They’re doing a final mega-sale at their SM Megamall branch which started last Sept 16, 2020 and running through until the end of October.
