Nintendo has announced that the pre-registration period for their upcoming mobile game, Dr. Mario World is now ongoing.
For those who are unfamiliar with Dr. Mario, this was Nintendo‘s tile matching game on the NES and Gameboy platforms where Mario dons the role of a doctor who is throwing two-colored medical capsules into a bottle containing color coded viruses. Similar to Tetris, players can manipulate the tossed capsules vertically or horizontally to remove those virus inside the bottle. Similar to match-3 games, the capsules or half capsules need to coincide with the color of the virus for it to disappear and require to follow at least three of the same color vertically/horizontally.
Based from what we’ve seen so far on the trailer, it seems like Dr. Mario World is going to stick to the core gameplay of the original Dr. Mario but with some game elements mimicking of most free-to-play games like Candy Crush.
So it’s interesting to see what can happen in the game once it launches on July 10, 2019. You can now head to the iOS app store or Google Play to pre-register for the game.
