It’s been almost 3 years since Ubisoft launched Tom Clancy’s The Division on March 8, 2016. Now they’ve announced the dates of the private beta for its sequel, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Those who have pre-ordered the game will be able to play on February 7 to 11, 2019, while others will get the chance to try it out by registering for the beta here.
Ubisoft also unveiled more details about Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2’s story, revealing all 3 enemies factions of the game and giving more background to the setting of the game. The True Sons are a paramilitary force that relies on combat expertise and firepower to dominate their enemies and expand their territory. Smart and organized, the True Sons are led by a former JTF officer whose ruthlessness and cunning make him a dangerous adversary. The second faction is the Hyenas a not as well organized gang of raiders that target struggling civilian encampments through violence and intimidation, they take everything they can steal and destroy everything else to keep their enemies from valuable resources. The Hyenas are led by a council of the strongest pack leaders. The last of them are the Outcasts survivors of a forced quarantine bent on revenge against those who imprisoned them and the society that let it happen. Their charismatic, bloodthirsty leader believes everyone is complicit and urges her followers to punish the guilty by spreading sickness and murdering indiscriminately. Each one unique, and builds up the world of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
Led by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with seven other studios around the world, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is the next evolution in the open-world online shooter RPG genre that the first game helped establish. Building upon more than two years of listening to and learnings from The Division community, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will offer a substantial campaign that organically flows into a robust endgame, to create a cohesive and meaningful experience for all types of players. The game will be available on March 15, 2019, on all platforms.
