Android 9.0 Pie is Hitting the Zenfone 5 Series this January

ASUS has announced that the Android 9.0 Pie system update for the ZenFone 5 is being rolled out in the Philippines. The rest of the ZenFone 5 series (ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5Q) will also be receiving the same update by the end of January 2019.

This update includes new features that have been introduced by Google in Android Pie, including:

  • A contextual pop-up volume bar
  • A new magnifier feature for easier copy-paste
  • An improved gesture-based navigation system
  • Improvements in system performance
  • Support for the latest OpenGL and Vulkan APIs for a better gaming experience
  • And of course improvements to the ZenUI user experience

To update to the Android 9.0 Pie you can either manually go to Settings > System > System Updates or wait for a notification to appear on your phone once it is available. All you need to do is tap on it to start the download. Once it is completed, a notification will pop-up if you would like to install it, just tap ‘Install’ to start the installation of the new system. You may notice that your device will reboot twice, which is normal, just leave it until the home screen appears and congratulations you have successfully updated to Android 9.0 Pie.

If you would like to try the latest Android System, maybe you’d like to try out the Android 9.0 Pie capable phones mentioned above. The Zenfone 5 is priced at 17,995.00 php, while the Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5Q are priced at 29,995.00 php and 12,995.00 php respectively.
