Spoilers for Caitlyn Snow ahead, if you haven’t caught on season four, you may want to stop reading.
One of the bigger things that happened with the CW‘s The Flash season four was that Killer Frost and Caitlyn Snow are one and the same. And that Killer Frost already manifested even before the particle accelerator explosion.
With that said, we were able to get some news from Danielle Panabaker herself during her time at San Diego Comic Con 2018 and we were able to get a few insights on what happens in Season 5.
Q: How have the fans reacted to the Caitlin and Killer Frost storyline?
It’s been crazy. The fans are great. To be honest, I have never seen anything like it. I was fairly new to social media when I joined the show, so it’s definitely been an experience. I love it.
Q:What can fans expect from Killer Frost in season five?
Who knows with Killer Frost? I honestly don’t know what will happen. I don’t know where she went. I don’t know if somebody took her. I don’t know if she decided not to come back. Hopefully, we’ll learn that as well.
Q: Is there going to be more development between Caitlin and her mother this season? Perhaps her mother has some answers about Killer Frost?
Hmmm… What can I say about this? Well, we’ve had this big reveal about Killer Frost being a part of Caitlin since she was a child. When you have questions about your childhood, aren’t your parents the first place you go?
Q: Does this mean we’ll finally get the origin story of Killer Frost?
I hope we’re finally going to get the origin story. That was part of my frustration with last year, because I didn’t feel like we asked enough why questions. We didn’t understand her motivation. It’s going to be Caitlin’s mission to understand how Killer Frost came to be. It was a revelation to know that it wasn’t from the particle accelerator explosion. That was a big curveball.
Q: Is meta-schizophrenia going to be a big part of the show in season five?
I don’t know about meta-schizophrenia. It was always described to me as a bit like a hole – but I would still like to understand why they call her Killer Frost. From everything I’ve seen, she hasn’t been particularly ‘killer’ yet.
Q: Will Caitlin tackle this mission to find out about Killer Frost alone or will she ask any of Team Flash to help?
I think she learned her lesson from trying to go off on her own. She tried to fix things herself in the past. That happened in season three. I think she will be going to the rest of Team Flash for help and support with this.
So there you have it! I’m pretty much psyched to see Danielle doing more this coming season. And it’s going to be interesting to see that this season will have Danielle direct episode 18 of the series. So let’s see what she can bring into the series!
