PlayStation exclusive (so far) title, The Last of Us is going to get it’s shot at the small screen with a series debuting on January 16, on HBO GO.
For the unfamiliar, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heart-breaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
The cast includes Pedro Pascal (The Mandaloran, Wonder Woman 1984) as Joel, Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie, Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Tommy, Anna Torv (Mindhunters, Fringe) as Tess, Nico Parker (Dumbo) as Sarah, Murray Bartlett (Welcome to Chippendales) as Frank, Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as Bill, Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets) as Kathleen, Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) as Riley, Merle Dandridge (The Flight Attendant) as Marlene, Jeffrey Pierce (The Foreigner) as Perry, Lamar Johnson (Brother, Kings) as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Graham Greene (The Green Mile) as Marlon, and Elaine Miles as Florence. Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker also star.
The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
