In another exciting upcoming movie reveal. We already read online that the Wreck-It-Ralph sequel will be coming out on March 9, 2018. However, some details are still hidden, but a recent interview of Collider with director, Rich Moore sheds a bit more light to the upcoming sequel.
The interview reveals a bit of the setting of the upcoming sequel. This time around we will see Ralph dealing with the internet and less of the arcade world from the first film. This doesn’t mean that Wreck-It-Ralph 2 will totally leave it’s arcade/video game roots. But Moore and his team will focus on bringing in to balance the new stuff (like the internet) but will still stick to the anchor that made the first movie work.
Moore shares:
So we’re really trying to find that balance of how can we have those great kind of references to retro arcade culture but also have it feel that this is also a contemporary world with newer games, newer – everything you can find on the Internet. Or just about everything that can be represented in a family film. [laughs] We’re trying to kind of make that balance of both.
Recurring characters that are officially back for the sequel would be Ralph and Vanellope. As for the list of supporting characters. Moore has yet to confirm which will be coming back. Because at this point they are still landing the characters. But he does hope that they’ll be able to reincorporate and provide cameos from those that came out in the first film.
With a sequel officially announced, I’ll be trying to keep watch of more details coming out for Wreck-it-Ralph 2.
