Rounding up our series of Vertux reviews is the Vertux Malaga. The Vertux Malaga is one of their entry-level gaming headphones. There’s not too many quality gaming headsets in this price range, so will the Malaga be the perfect choice if you don’t want to spend too much? Let our review help you on making that decision.
Design
Looking at the headset, it gives you the signature Vertux look. The Malaga is undoubtedly a gamer’s headset with its blue (or red) trim and earcup design. This being in more of a budget range, unfortunately doesn’t have RGB.
The Vertux Malaga has a steel-reinforced adjustable headband with foam for comfort. It’s solidly built and looks comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions.
The Malaga has an in-line controller to mute/unmute your mic and adjust your volume. It also has a 3.5mm jack, but if your device doesn’t have a combo mic/headphone port, the Malaga includes a splitter jack for more conventional desktop computers.
User Experience
The Vertux Malaga is perfect for medium to large-sized heads. The padded headband and earcups make it comfortable to use for hours on end. My only gripe about the headset is that the earcups don’t seal properly. The front side of the earcups doesn’t press on your head like the backside does, creating an imperfect seal. This can be easily fixed by adjusting the way the Vertux Malaga sits on your head.
The 50mm driver sounds good and can easily be driven without an amp. The sound stage is pretty wide and you can clearly pinpoint where footsteps are coming from. The mic sounds okay, according to my team mates. It’s not radio broadcast quality, but easily understandable and pretty much picks up ambient noise around me, i.e., my clicky Cherry MX blue keyboard.
The inline controls are pretty handy if you want to mute/unmute your microphone and adjust your volume on the fly. One thing the Malaga can improve on is an LED indicator if the mic is on/off because sometimes, in the heat of battle, the last thing you want is you giving information to your teammates without them hearing you because your mic is muted.
Verdict
Overall, the Vertux Malaga is a perfect gateway to the world of gaming headsets. Whether you’re a console gamer, mobile gamer or a PC gamer, the Vertux Malaga can definitely transport you inside your game and communicate with your teammates effectively. It comes in blue and red, and Vertux, it wouldn’t hurt to have an all-black design too. You can grab the Vertux Malaga for ₱1,495 on Vertux‘s official stores.
As with all Vertux products, the Vertux Malaga is covered by a 2-year warranty and you can purchase it via the official stores listed below.
